About the Role: 

 

Reporting to: National Sales Manager (New Zealand)
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Work Location: Auckland, New Zealand

 

The Sales Executive is responsible for promoting and selling CMA CGM Group’s shipping and non-maritime services, with a strong focus on developing new business and growing existing customer relationships. The role proactively identifies sales opportunities and implements strategies to expand market coverage while achieving annual sales targets across CMA CGM Group services.

 

The role and responsibilities will include:

 

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of existing customers, maintaining regular face-to-face engagement and identifying opportunities to increase import and export volumes and overall market share.
  • Drive new business development by identifying prospects, re-engaging dormant or lost customers, and converting sales leads and market opportunities in line with agreed targets.
  • Promote CMA CGM Group’s shipping and non-maritime solutions, including e-commerce, value-added services (VAS), intermodal solutions and CEVA Logistics, to deliver broader solutions to customers.
  • Manage sales performance and market intelligence through CRM activity, customer profiles, forecasts, sales plans and competitor analysis, providing regular updates on customer and market developments.
  • Collaborate across Sales, Customer Care, Operations, Line Management and regional teams to respond to customer needs, support commercial strategies and achieve sales, revenue and growth targets.

 

To be successful in this role, you will need:

 

  • Tertiary qualification in Business or a related discipline is preferred, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience within shipping, freight forwarding or the logistics industry, ideally within a sales, business development or customer-facing role.
  • Strong commercial and customer focus, with sound business acumen and the ability to identify opportunities, negotiate effectively and develop customer relationships.
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to confidently engage, influence and collaborate with customers and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Self-motivated, organised and results-driven, with strong analytical and planning skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
