YOUR ROLE
Mission: He / She is in between operations and management functions, bringing technical expertise and support to operations to improve transport performance.
Activities
Lead daily transport performance
- Closely monitor carrier performance
- Challenge carriers with alternative solution
- Track recurrent deviations
- Report to carrier & procurement management on global performance overview.
- Communicate proactively to customer
- Support operations being the first escalation level.
Manage technical quotations
- Check that all required specifications are available.
- Clarify technical requirements with customer when needed.
- Request quotation to carriers
- Analyze technical and cost answer from carriers.
- Send detailed quotation to customer
- Provide clear instructions to operations
- Report to procurement team on global cost and solution overview
- Cost Management
- Support freight audit team in cost gap analysis with technical analysis of the gap
- Challenge alternative solution with carriers
- Report to procurement team for rate card adjustment when required.
Contribute to continuous improvement
- Manage and resolve major operational issues which require technical expertise, closely communicate to customer and operational team on follow up.
- Report to operation Manager and contract manager on operational gaps, to adjust SOP or organize operation team awareness when required.
- Manage blocking points on claim and complaints to support resolution.
- Contribute to regulatory watch.
Act as a coordinator between operation, customer, and support functions to support smooth operation management:
- Participate to weekly and Monthly performance review with carriers.
- Participate to weekly operational review with customers.
SKILLS
For this position, the successful candidate should have a good transport & logistics background.
- Strong freight forwarding knowledge in air, sea and land transportation, transport regulation and process. A minimum of 5 years experience as freight forwarding agent is required.
- Knowledge in customs management
- Customer oriented and stress Management.
- Ability to work in an independent environment with remote teams.
- Solid working knowledge of standard computer applications including MS Office (especially Excel)
- Good communication
- Well organized and ease with priority Management
EXPERIENCE
- 5 years experience in freight forwarding. With strong knowledge on Airfreight and customs.
- Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing
- Bachelor’s degree +3 years in Transport and logistics (desirable)
- Ability to travel (25%)
- Fluent English local language and French (desirable)

- Position in a matrix organization with a direct reporting line to his Responsible (3PL & procurement Manager)
