YOUR ROLE
We are looking for a proactive and self-starting QHSE Specialist to join our team in Amsterdam, where we are currently operating—but soon moving to a brand new, bigger and better site in Zaandam. This exciting move offers the opportunity to help shape our new work environment right from the start.
As a Quality, Health, Safety & Environment Specialist, you’ll play a key role in embedding the CEVA QHSE policy at our site and supporting the creation of a safe and healthy workplace for our team. You'll be part of a broader, cross-site QSHE team, but your main focus will be the Zaandam site, where your independent, hands-on approach will truly make an impact.
Besides health and safety, you'll also be involved in maintaining quality standards based on ISO norms and customer requirements. You'll ensure preventive measures are in place and advise on improvements—all to help us reach the highest standards of workplace safety and quality.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
At our current location in Amsterdam (and soon Zaandam), we handle Contract Logistics for a major client in the fashion e-commerce industry. Although this is a smaller site compared to some others, it brings great opportunities for ownership, visibility, and connection with the team.
You will collaborate with both operational leadership and your QHSE colleagues across the network. You’ll ensure risk assessments are up-to-date, promote QHSE best practices, and foster a safety-first culture. You’ll also have regular contact with our client, as we maintain a strong partnership model.
You’ll take the lead on:
- Performing and updating Risk Inventory & Evaluations (RI&E), checking Last Minute Risk Assessments (LMRA), and leading safety tours.
- Supporting workplace investigations and management of change processes.
- Drafting and maintaining Emergency & Evacuation Plans.
- Coordinating and leading the Emergency Response Team.
- Conducting incident analyses and managing follow-ups.
- Creating and implementing safety procedures and instructions.
- Raising safety awareness across all levels of the operation.
You will work from Monday to Friday within flexible office hours (07:30 – 18:00), with the Operations Excellence Manager as your direct supervisor.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We’re looking for someone who is independent, driven, and comfortable taking initiative. You’re someone who enjoys working with both people and processes, knows how to get things done, and isn’t afraid to speak up. You’re detail-oriented, organized, and a strong communicator.
Here’s what we’d love you to bring:
- HBO working and thinking level, preferably in safety or quality.
- Experience in logistics or supply chain is a plus.
- Comfortable working on projects independently.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong communication skills in Dutch and English.
WHAT DO WE OFFER YOU?
At CEVA Logistics, we offer you the freedom and support to grow professionally and personally. This role is a great starting point in a broader career within CEVA. We work hard, but there’s also plenty of space for fun, collaboration, and personal development.
Here’s what’s in it for you:
- A gross monthly salary between €2.360,95 to €3.574,00, based on experience.
- A one-year contract with the intention to move to a permanent role.
- CEVA’s own CLA: 25 vacation days + 5 additional days off (ADV).
- Profit-sharing bonus up to 3%.
- Good pension plan, travel allowance, and 8% holiday pay.
- Laptop and phone provided.
- Possibility to work part-time (min. 32 hours).
- Training and development through our CEVA Academy, including first aid (BHV) and specialist QHSE courses.
