YOUR ROLE
We are recruiting a Technical Non Production Manager to lead and manage all non productive functions within our Technical Services operation. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the smooth, compliant, and efficient running of the technical department, supporting both internal teams and client service delivery.
You will take ownership of key operational support areas including parts, warranty, arrivals and de fleets, transporter diary management, stock control, reporting, and data management. Alongside this, you will lead, develop, and performance manage a dedicated non productive team, ensuring service levels, quality, and accuracy are consistently achieved.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Reporting onto the Regional General Manager for Technical Services Team, you will be responsible for:
- Lead and manage all non‑productive technical functions, supporting the wider technical operation
- Ensure services are delivered in line with client contracts and service level agreements
- Manage and control work in progress (WIP) across internal teams, third‑party suppliers, and off‑site dealer services
- Take ownership of the parts department, including P&L accountability, stock control, returns, and departmental development
- Manage warranty processes in line with OEM requirements, including claims, submissions, returns, and P&L
- Oversee arrivals and de‑fleet processes in line with all client requirements
- Lead and support damage claims, from accident through to transit damage resolution
- Produce and present KPI and SLA reporting for internal and external stakeholders
- Maintain daily operating controls to support revenue trending, planning, and resource management
- Recruit, manage, review, and develop the non‑productive team
- Drive system improvements and automation to reduce administration, improve billing accuracy, and enhance margin visibility
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, ISO9001 standards, and environmental policies, supporting progression toward ISO14001
- Manage First Aiders and Fire Marshals within the technical department and support HR processes including performance reviews and attendance management
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
To be successful in your application you will be a structured and analytical people leader with experience working in fast paced environments. You will be confident managing data, systems, and operational processes, with a strong focus on accuracy, service quality, and continuous improvement.
- Full UK driving license (no more than 6 penalty points)
- Proven experience leading a team in an operational environment
- Experience using management systems to plan, flow, and invoice service products
- Experience within the automotive or motor trade
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical skills with experience producing and interpreting reports.
