YOUR ROLE


Within Greater China perimeters, focus on trade management, by leveraging global and local ocean freight procurement processes, delivering competitive pricing and tailored solutions to drive the growth of China’s prepaid business.

 

 

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

  • Negotiate ocean freight rates and solutions with multiple shipping lines.
  • Collaborate closely with regional and head office procurement teams, ensuring timely feedback and solutions for China BD and local entities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with core and strategic carrier partners in China.
  • Ensure full alignment of China operations with global core carrier policies.
  • Provide dedicated support to the BD team in China to drive ocean freight business growth.
  • Participate in customer visits alongside the BD team when required.
  • Partner with carriers in China to develop innovative solutions and products (e.g., intermodal, green logistics, reefer, DG, NOR, etc.).
  • Monitor, collect, and share market intelligence on a regular basis.
  • Coordinate with the tender team and BD team to support tenders, short bids, and spot opportunities.
  • Attend Tender/RFQ sign-off sessions.
  • Analyze market trends and recommend selling rates (RSR).
  • Act as the escalation point for BD teams and entities in case of carrier-related issues.
  • Support the ocean freight sustainability team in designing and implementing sustainability initiatives.
  • Work with Cargo Flow Management (CFM) to oversee contract fulfillment, with emphasis on prepaid allocation compliance.
  • Conduct regular review meetings with carriers to strengthen cooperation.
  • Ensure DMP is accurately updated with prepaid rate filings.
  • Prepare monthly reports on trade lane development and performance.
  • Handle ac-hot tasks related to trade lane development as needed.
  • Serve as the key liaison between China and destination countries.
  • Drive the creation and development of new ocean freight products.

 



WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Logistics or Maritime school or Transport engineering
  • 3 years’ experience in the field of ocean procurement
  • Microsoft Office Software
  • Good oral and written English level
  • Good communication and influencing skills
  • Able to work under stress to meet tight deadlines and to handle multiple tasks
  • Business-driven
