YOUR ROLE
Due to continued growth and new business wins, it’s an exciting time to join our Daventry operation. Weare looking for a Key Inventory Operative to support the planning, organisation and day-to-day management of the team, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
In this role, you will also step up to provide cover for the Team Leader in their absence, working closely with the Shift Managers and Inventory Manager to maintain performance and service standards.
This is a Monday to Friday role, with flexibility required to meet the operational needs of the business. This role pays £13.27 per hour.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
- Supporting Operations and Client Services with inventory counts and stock control activities
- Completing added value services such as cycle counts and rework as required
- Maintaining high accuracy levels and recording all activities within the Warehouse Management System
- Checking goods received against purchase orders and investigating any discrepancies
- Monitoring stock levels, updating system records, and compiling daily inventory reports
- Conducting random checks and audits to ensure stock accuracy
- Working on client returns in collaboration with the Client Services team
- Communicating effectively with carriers and external partners
- Delivering against KPIs and customer SLAs across speed, quality, and cost
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and implementing new processes
- Maintaining a clean, organised workspace in line with 5S standards
- Promoting a safety-first culture and adhering to all Health & Safety regulations
- Taking ownership, showing accountability, and adapting to changing business demands
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Experience in a warehouse or operational environment, ideally in a senior operative or step-up role
- Experience of stock management in a logistics or warehouse environment.
- Confidence leading people, setting priorities, and driving performance
- Strong organisational, communication skills and eye for detail
- A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to problem-solve under pressure
- Good understanding of health & safety and operational standards
