YOUR ROLE
We are looking for a driven and experienced Ocean Freight Manager to lead and develop our Ocean Freight operation across Ireland, based in Dublin. This is a key leadership role with full accountability for deploying the Group’s strategic business plan, delivering operational excellence, and driving continuous improvement across structure, processes and productivity.
This role will play a critical part in shaping the future of our Ocean Freight organisation in Ireland, ensuring existing business is retained and developed while building a high‑performance, customer‑focused culture.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
As Ocean Freight Manager, you will take full responsibility for the complete Ocean Freight operation, ensuring the successful execution of the Group’s strategy through strong leadership, operational excellence and a relentless focus on continuous improvement. You will lead, develop and inspire your teams, creating the capability, structure and processes required to deliver sustainable performance, service excellence and long‑term growth, with focuses on:
- Deploy and deliver strategic business plans across the Ireland Ocean Freight organisation.
- Take full accountability for the end‑to‑end Ocean Freight operation in Ireland, ensuring service quality, productivity, compliance and cost control.
- Drive the retention and development of existing business, building strong customer relationships and ensuring consistent operational excellence.
- Create, embed and lead a Continuous Improvement culture, improving organisational structure, processes, systems and operational productivity.
- Build, lead and develop a high‑performing management and operational team, focusing on engagement, capability and succession.
- Identify and implement operational efficiencies, performance improvements and cost‑saving initiatives to support sustainable growth.
- Ensure full compliance with all regulatory, safety, quality and company standards across ocean freight activities.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across the business to support transformation, best practice sharing and strategic initiatives.
- Act as a senior representative for the Ireland Ocean Freight organisation with customers, suppliers and partners.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Proven leadership experience within an Ocean Freight or Freight Forwarding environment, ideally managing a full operation.
- Demonstrated experience of deploying strategic plans and translating them into operational delivery.
- Strong operational expertise with a proven track record in continuous improvement, process optimisation and productivity enhancement.
- Commercially focused with experience in retaining, developing and growing existing customer business.
- An engaging and credible people leader, capable of building, motivating and developing high‑performing teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills at all levels.
- Highly organised, analytical and solutions‑driven, with the ability to manage complexity in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills with confidence operating at senior leadership level.
