YOUR ROLE
We are looking for the Operations Shift Manager to be responsible for overseeing day‑to‑day operational activities during an assigned shift to ensure safety, productivity, quality, and service delivery targets are met. This role leads and directs shift teams, coordinates operational workflows, manages incidents, and ensures compliance with company standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Operational Management
Manage all operational activities during the shift to ensure smooth, efficient, and continuous workflow.
Monitor production/output against daily targets and implement corrective actions when variances occur.
Coordinate handover between shifts, ensuring accurate communication of operational priorities and issues.
Ensure equipment and resources are available, functional, and optimally utilised.
People Leadership
Supervise, coach, and support shift employees to promote performance, engagement, and teamwork.
Manage shift staffing including attendance, planning, overtime, and allocation of duties.
Conduct shift briefings, toolbox talks, and performance discussions as needed.
Address conflicts, misconduct, and performance concerns in line with HR policies.
Safety, Compliance & Quality
Enforce all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards and lead by example in safe work practices.
Respond to safety incidents, lead root‑cause investigations, and implement corrective actions.
Ensure all operational activities comply with regulatory, quality, and company policies.
Conduct routine audits and inspections.
Continuous Improvement
Identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements to increase productivity and reduce waste.
Participate in continuous improvement projects (Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma).
Monitor and analyse shift performance data for trends and improvement opportunities.
Communication & Reporting
Prepare accurate shift reports on operations, KPIs, incidents, staffing, and production.
Maintain open communication with management, maintenance, logistics, and other key departments.
Escalate critical operational issues in a timely manner.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain or relevant.
At least 5-7 years’ experience in Operations management, preferably in a similar industry.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Knowledge of business operations, including supply chain management, logistics, and inventory management
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Familiarity with relevant software and systems, including ERP/WMS & CRM systems.
Must be able to sand, walk and bend for extended periods of time.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong leadership and management skills, including the ability to motivate and coach team members.
