YOUR ROLE

 

Our Multi-User operation based in Kettering have an exciting opportunity for a meticulous and performance driven Transport Planner where you will be responsible for the daily transport plan covering delivery demands across the UK.

This is a Monday to Friday role, 10:30 to 18:30.

 

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

 

Reporting into the Transport Supervisor, you will manage, monitor, and develop the daily transport plan ensuring where you will utilise CEVA fleet and sub-contractors balancing cost and service to ensure a smooth, efficient, and robust delivery plan that meets and exceeds operational objectives. With excellent transportation and geographical knowledge, you will liaise with internal colleagues, the client and end customers to ensure service levels are met and issues raised are captured and investigated. You will administer and promote all aspects of the transport operation in line with company policy, procedures, and transport regulations and compliance.

 

You will closely monitor client volume forecasts that will support with future transport plans, resource allocation and operational objectives. You will create, produce, and present accurate measurements of KPIs, analysing the data looking for trends to determine opportunities for growth and sharing with operational management and client monthly reports.

 

You will also attend regular calls with clients to discuss volumes, requirements and upcoming operational needs.

 

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

 

To be successful in your application you will already be operating within a transport environment acting in a transport planning role. You will have comprehensive knowledge and awareness of tachograph legislation and working time directive to enable you to plan efficiently and effectively. Experience of using Paragon is desirable but training will be provided. You will be comfortable engaging with individuals at all levels both inside and outside of the organisation via telephone and email, be a natural communicator, problem solver and team player, who is able to manage conflicting priorities to meet operational deadlines. 

 

You will have previous experience of using Transport Management Systems such as INES, or equivalent, skilled in analysing and interpreting data with a focus on cost control and save. You will also be experienced in relevant MS Packages such as Word and Excel, experienced in managing, updating, and analysing spreadsheets.
