YOUR ROLE
Our operation based in Ryton-on-Dunsmore (just outside Coventry), has a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated and improvement focused Stock & Systems Manager to take responsibility for stock management and system integrity to ensure effective co-ordination of site inventory and system management procedures.
This is a Monday to Friday role
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Reporting into the Head of Business Support you will coach and motivate a team of 4 Stock Clerks, 4 Troubleshooters and a WMS Super User, you will take ownership of stock integrity, inventory performance and systems across the operation. You will ensure stock is available in the correct locations and managed effectively to meet and exceed client service levels, contractual KPIs and SLAs. You will oversee stock accuracy, inventory balancing and stock variance investigations, ensuring discrepancies and service failures are fully investigated and resolved. You will produce weekly and monthly performance reports, using data to identify trends, address challenges and drive improvements.
Building strong customer relationships will be a key part of the role. You will communicate regularly with customers, provide performance updates and support weekly and monthly reviews and MBRs covering stock accuracy, inventory performance, KPIs and customer queries. You will support the development and effectiveness of our WMS, working with the WMS Super User and central functions on system changes, testing, troubleshooting and implementations, while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
You will maintain a strong focus on operational efficiency, capacity and resource utilisation, supporting the wider operation during busy. You will also support projects including VAS, disposal activities, capacity reporting and operational improvements. You will play a key role in driving operational excellence, combining strong inventory and systems knowledge with customer focus, people leadership and a continuous improvement mindset.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Our ideal candidate will have previous experience of working in an inventory management role and ideally come from a large and fast paced operational logistics environment and have proven knowledge and understanding of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), identifying challenges and opportunities to support the achievement of performance metrics and ongoing review and input to the optimum layout of pick sequences.
You will demonstrate a clear understanding of cost control, organisational and problem-solving skills as well as strong leadership and collaborative team working experience with a mind-set that looks to create a culture of high-performance through coaching and development whilst implementing sustainable improvements to drive business performance.
