YOUR ROLE

 

The IP&ES Manager / Country Lead is responsible for overseeing all Integrated Projects & Energy Solutions (IP&ES) operations in Mozambique, with a primary focus on project logistics for key clients and sectors (e.g. energy, mining, infrastructure, industrial). The role holder acts as the country lead, accountable for overall country performance, compliance, risk management, and stakeholder relationships, ensuring that Mozambique operations are safe, efficient, commercially sound, and aligned with regional strategy.

 

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

A. Project Logistics Management (IP&ES)

  • Lead end-to-end planning and execution of complex project logistics, including heavy-lift, out-of-gauge and breakbulk cargo, multimodal solutions (road, rail, sea, air), and time-critical shipments.
  • Participate in the Global IP&ES Strategy initiative and have its own distinct P&L to develop and manage Develop project-specific logistics strategies, route surveys, risk assessments and execution plans, ensuring technical feasibility, cost efficiency and compliance with local regulations.
  • Monitor project budgets, margins and cost control, proactively managing variations, claims and change requests together with commercial and finance teams.
  • Drive operational excellence, implementing best practices, KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives for project logistics in Mozambique.

 

B. Country Management & Leadership

  • Act as the overall country lead, accountable for operational performance, revenue growth, profitability and cash management in Mozambique.
  • Manage country risk (operational, political, compliance, security), including crisis preparedness and response plans.
  • Represent the company in Mozambique with authorities, regulators, industry bodies, joint venture partners, and key vendors.

 

C. Business Development & Client Management

  • Support business development and sales in Mozambique for IP&ES and related services, including opportunity identification, solution design, pricing input and bid management.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and target clients (e.g. EPCs, operators, mining and energy clients, NGOs, infrastructure developers).

 

D. Safety, Quality and Compliance

  • Champion a strong HSE culture across all Mozambique operations; ensure strict adherence to company HSE standards and local legislation.
  • Ensure that project execution complies with company quality standards and relevant ISO or industry certifications where applicable.

 

E. Financial & Performance Management

  • Own and manage the Mozambique IP&ES budget and forecasts in coordination with regional finance.
  • Monitor and report on country and project performance (P&L, order book, pipeline, KPIs, operational metrics).
  • Ensure effective credit control, billing, and cost recovery for all project logistics activities.
  • Identify and implement cost optimisation and productivity improvements without compromising safety or quality.

 

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics/Business Management
  • Post Graduate Business will be an added advantage
  • Position will be based in Mozambique.
  • Candidate should have deep knowledge and experience in project management in Mozambique - +10 years and specifically Oil&Gas Logistics
  • Candidate should have ownership and responsibility for the Project Logistics P&L
  • Role requires solid financial knowledge and the ability to manage Country P&L.
  • Team management skills are crucial.
  • Good communication skills with both the team and customers are essential.
  • Strong management skills are a must
